Notes on work, life, and becoming better.
In January 2019, I published my first WordPress plugin. Seven years later, I published my third. A lot changed in between. Not just the tools. The feeling, too. Built by Hand My first plugin was WP Eventbrite Embedded Checkout. When I built it, I was sick. I could not do much, so I stayed in … Read more
I recently bought a book called Protocols by Andrew Huberman. I have not finished it. I have only read the first part of the chapter on exercise. But one simple idea already stayed with me. Walk as much as possible each day. Before I walked before. Just not every day. Two or three times a … Read more
Recently, I decided to add a small page to this blog. A page for kind words. Over the past ten years, people I worked with and people I helped have left reviews and recommendations. Most of them are on Upwork, from my freelance years. Some are on LinkedIn, from colleagues and clients. And a few … Read more
In the past few weeks, I have been reminded again of something very simple, but often easy to forget: health is not a small thing. Most of the time, we only notice health when it starts to disappear. They mentioned that around 100,000 flights operate daily, and then asked a simple question: how many failures would it take for people to stop trusting the system? The answer was not a large number. It was … Read more
It was 6am in Kintamani, a quiet mountain area in northern Bali. The air was cold. The morning was quiet. A soft layer of fog covered the landscape, blurring the outlines of mountains and trees. Nothing felt rushed. Even the world itself seemed to be moving slowly. We were there during our December holiday in … Read more
This was our last evening of the year. A small coffee shop in Negara, a quiet town near the western tip of Bali. Rain on the street. Warm light inside. We sat there for a while, talking, laughing, and simply enjoying the quiet before the year ended. We had spent a week in Bali and … Read more
No one opens a support ticket when everything works perfectly. Most tickets start because something broke, something failed, or something did not meet expectations. Sometimes the subject line is neutral. Sometimes it is not. “This plugin broke my entire website.”“Your update caused serious issues.”“I’m losing clients because of this.” If you work in support long … Read more
